Project 22 will provide services for young adults with disabilities over the age of 22 in Sumner County with lifelong learning opportunities in the areas of vocational, social, recreational, volunteer, and life skills. We will promote caring attitudes and respectfulness when working with individuals with disabilities and their families. We will also advocate for these individuals and their families and encourage them to advocate for themselves. We will promote diversity, integrity and accountability for the services and supports being provided to these individuals
The Adult Program has the flexibility to meet the needs of those we support by offering three phases of programs:
· Adult Resource Program - A program tailored to those with the greatest support needs. This program focuses on life skills and vocational skill building at the most beginning stages. Individuals have the opportunity to participate in community based leisure and recreational activities.
· Community Resource Program - A program focused on promoting community based skill instruction. Individuals practice vocational skills learned within the program and by participating in volunteer opportunities. Life skills, such as money handling and appropriate dress, are reinforced through bi-monthly meetings.
· Skills Training Program - The Skills Training Program provides individuals with the opportunity to build skill in their area of vocational interest with hands on training.
This program is being endorsed/sponsored by Arc of Cumberland Valley. Arc of Cumberland Valley provides services/supports for individuals with disabilities and their families in Sumner, Wilson, Trousdale and Macon Counties.
